I. INTRODUCTION

Camille Holdings Pty Ltd, trading as Camille Labs (“we,” “us” or “our”), takes your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains our data protection practices and describes the types of information we may process when you install and/or use any of our software applications for mobile devices (each an “App” and together the “Apps”). This Privacy Policy applies to all of our Apps unless an App displays a separate privacy policy, in which case that policy applies to that App.

Our Apps offer different features. Some sections of this Privacy Policy (for example, those describing photos, documents or AI-generated content) only apply to the extent that the App you use provides the relevant feature.

When we refer to personal data (or personal information) we mean any information relating to a natural person who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier, or one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that person.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users and others who access the Apps (“Users”). For the purposes of the GDPR, we are the data controller, unless otherwise stated.

PLEASE READ THIS PRIVACY POLICY CAREFULLY FOR INFORMATION REGARDING THE WAYS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION MAY BE PROCESSED. WHEN YOU USE AN APP YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THIS PRIVACY POLICY.

II. NOTICE FOR CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA”), California residents have the right to request:

Personal information. The categories of information, their sources and the purposes of processing are described in Section III and Section IV. Under the CCPA, personal information does not include de-identified or aggregated consumer information.

Sharing. How your information may be shared is described in Section V. All third parties that process User data on our behalf are service providers that use such information under an agreement and for a business purpose.

Opt-out options. If you no longer want us to process your personal information, please email us. In most cases an App cannot continue to operate without functional data, so you may be advised to remove the App from your device. If you do not want us to share device identifiers and location data with service providers, please check your device settings as described in Section IX.

Requests. To submit a verifiable consumer request for access, portability, correction or deletion of personal data, please contact us by email, stating the name of the App you use and including the wording “California privacy rights request”. When submitting a verifiable request, you should be ready to:

We will not be able to respond to your request if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request, or confirm that the personal information relates to you. We may ask for additional information to verify your identity. Personal information provided in a verifiable request will be used only to verify the requestor’s identity or authority and will be deleted once that purpose is fulfilled.

We try to respond to a verifiable consumer request within forty-five (45) days of its receipt. If we require more time, we will inform you of the reason and the extension period in writing.

Equal rights. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights, which means we will not set different prices, products or levels of service for you because you exercised them. However, in some circumstances we may not be able to provide services if you ask us to delete the personal information an App needs to function.

Sale of data. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

III. INFORMATION WE PROCESS

There are several categories of information that may be processed.

Functional Information

We ask for and process the following information when you use an App. This information is necessary for the performance of the contract between you and us. Without it we cannot provide the App’s functionality or the services you request.

Information That Is Processed Automatically

When you use an App, some information about your device and your usage may be processed automatically. This information is generally non-personal, i.e. it does not on its own permit direct association with a specific individual, and we may access it only in aggregated form. We process this information on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving our Apps and giving our Users the best experience.

We use third-party automatic data processing technologies (analytics, attribution, crash reporting and advertising tools) to analyze certain information sent by your device via an App. Some of these tools may carry out automated processing of personal data, including profiling, to evaluate or predict aspects of your preferences, interests or behavior. Where required by law or by your device’s operating system (for example, Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework), we will ask for your permission before such tracking takes place.

Information provided automatically to advertising or analytics tools is generally not under our control. Some services may combine information collected through our Apps with information they have obtained by their own means (for example, if your device is associated with a social network account). We do not control how such third parties process personal data they collect independently. Requests regarding such information should be directed to those third parties (see Section V).

Payment Information

In-App purchases and subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device. These providers are responsible for billing and handle your payment information in accordance with their own privacy policies. We receive confirmation of your purchase or subscription status, but we cannot access or use your credit or debit card information. You may access the applicable purchase rules and policies directly from the app stores.

IV. THE PURPOSES OF PROCESSING YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We use your information for the following purposes:

(a) To make our services available. We use functional information and information processed automatically to provide you with the features and services you request.

(b) To improve, test and monitor the effectiveness of our Apps. We use information processed automatically to understand User behavior and trends, detect outages and technical issues, and to operate, protect, improve and optimize our Apps.

(c) To provide interest-based advertising or other targeted content. We may use information processed automatically for marketing purposes, including to show ads that may be of interest to you and to measure the performance of our marketing campaigns.

(d) To communicate with you. We use your information to send you notifications you have agreed to receive, ask for your feedback, inform you about changes to our policies and terms, and respond to you when you contact us.

(e) To prevent fraud and abuse and to enforce the law. We may use your information to prevent, detect and investigate fraud, security breaches and potentially prohibited or illegal activities, and to enforce our Terms of Use.

If we start processing personal data for a new purpose, we will let you know by updating this Privacy Policy.

V. SHARING OF YOUR INFORMATION

We share your information with third parties only in the ways described in this Privacy Policy. We will not rent or sell your personal data. We may share information such as device identifiers, usage data and approximate location with third parties that provide automatic data processing technologies for our Apps, and with advertising partners that may use it to deliver ads they believe will be of interest to you.

When integrating external services we choose third parties that apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. However, we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted to a third party and are not responsible for loss of or unauthorized access to personal data through the fault of a third party.

We provide our Apps to Users around the world. We, our service providers and our advertising partners may transfer information, including personal information, across borders to countries whose data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction, including the United States.

Where we transfer personal data, we take steps to ensure that the recipient provides an appropriate level of protection in accordance with applicable law, such as relying on standard contractual clauses where required. You can also visit https://youradchoices.com. Please note that after opting out you may still see contextual ads that are not based on your personal information.

Opt out of location data processing

Opt out of notifications

You can turn off push notifications for an App at any time in your device’s notification settings.

X. SECURITY

The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted industry standards and take reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit and data minimization, to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If your personal information is compromised as a result of a security breach, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

XI. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Our Apps are not directed to children, including Apps designed to help parents and caregivers. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children. As a general rule we consider a person under the age of 16 to be a child, unless applicable local law sets a different age. No one who is considered a child under applicable law may provide personal information to an App.

Where an App lets parents enter information related to their child or family (for example, a child’s name, age or photos), that information is provided by the parent or guardian, who is responsible for doing so, and is used only to provide the requested feature.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it as quickly as possible. If you believe we may have such information, please contact us.

XII. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last modified” date above. Where appropriate, we may also notify you in the App.
